Wooden Sorting Box — Swappable Category Strips

A sturdy wooden box with slots in the top and a set of long guide strips that slide in — fruit and vegetables, numbers, animals. Your child fits the strip for today's category, then posts each picture card into the position it belongs to. Open the box at the end to see how they did.

How you play

1. Choose a category and slide its guide strip into place.
2. Spread the picture cards where your child can see them.
3. Take a card and find where it belongs on the strip.
4. Post it through the matching slot.
5. When all the cards are in, open the box and check them together.

Three ways to play it

• Do one category properly rather than switching between them
