How you play
- Spread all twenty-six pieces out on a flat surface.
- Start with the letters your child already knows.
- Match each letter piece to the animal picture it belongs to.
- Say the letter, then the animal, then the sound they share.
- Carry on until the whole alphabet is together.
What it builds
- Letter recognition tied to a sound rather than a shape alone
- Vocabulary — twenty-six animals, learned in the process
- Matching and fitting, which is the puzzle half of it
- Working through the alphabet in order once the letters are known
Three ways to play it
- Do the letters of your child's own name first
- Hide one letter and ask which animal has gone missing
- Lay the finished alphabet out and sing through it
