Learn to Read

First books to read

Early readers use short sentences and repeated words so a child can start reading on their own. Two to start with:

• For Young Readers (ages 1–4): twelve short English stories.
• I Read with My Child (ages 0–3): made for reading together from the earliest years.

Worth knowing

Take turns: you read a page, your child reads a line. Point to each word as you read it, so the link between spoken and written words is easy to see.

More books by age: children's books by age, and first-words books.
