Description
Wooden fish numbered 0 to 10, magnetic fishing rods, and shape pieces to match. Your child fishes a numbered fish out, names the number, and matches it to the right place. It works as a counting game long before a child can count, because catching the fish is reward enough on its own.

How you play
- Spread the fish out with the numbers facing up.
- Hold the rod and lower the magnet onto a fish.
- Lift it out and say the number written on it.
- Match the fish to the number or shape it belongs with.
- Carry on until every fish is caught and matched.
What it builds
- Number recognition from 0 to 10, one fish at a time
- Hand-eye coordination and steady control of the rod
- Counting a set as it grows in front of them
- Patience, since the magnet only catches when it is lined up
Three ways to play it
- Ask for a specific number and let your child fish for it
- Line the caught fish up in order once they are all out
- Race to catch the odd numbers while you catch the even ones
