Description
A science kit that turns everyday things into a working battery. Your child pushes the electrodes into a lemon, an apple, salt water, or even soil from a plant pot, and the current that flows is enough to run a small digital clock or light an LED. The electricity is real, not simulated.
How you play
- Choose your power source — a lemon, an apple, or salt water.
- Push the two electrodes into it, keeping them apart.
- Connect the wires to the clock or the LED.
- Watch the clock start, or the LED light.
- Try a different source and see which one works best.
What it builds
- That electricity can come from ordinary materials, seen first-hand
- Running a fair comparison — same setup, different fruit
- Careful assembly, since a loose connection means nothing happens
- Recording a result and drawing a conclusion from it
Three ways to play it
- Test three different fruits and rank them
- Try the same fruit fresh and a day later
- Write down each result before moving to the next
The details
- Ages: 8–10 years
- Material: metal
