Grow-a-Maze Kit — Watch Roots Find the Light

A transparent maze you plant a seed inside. As the seedling grows it has to find its way around the obstacles towards the light, and because the maze is clear your child can watch the whole thing happen over days. It is a real experiment with a real waiting period.

How you play

1. Assemble the transparent maze and plant the seed where the kit shows.
2. Water it and place it where light comes from one side.
3. Check it every day and note what has changed.
4. Watch the shoot bend around each obstacle towards the light.
5. Record how many days it takes to reach the top.

Three ways to play it

• Draw the maze each day and mark how far the shoot has reached
• Turn the maze around halfway and see what the shoot does
