Wooden City Blocks — Houses, Towers, Trees and People

A set of wooden blocks shaped as the parts of a town — houses, towers, trees, a car, small figures — and a wooden base to build them on. Your child lays out a city, then rearranges it. Because the pieces are recognisable things, the building turns into a story.

How you play

1. Put the base down where the city can stay for a while.
2. Sort the pieces — buildings in one group, trees and people in another.
3. Place the buildings first and leave space between them for roads.
4. Add the trees, the car and the figures.
5. Rearrange the city whenever your child wants a different one.

• Balance and stability, discovered by what falls over
• Planning a layout, including the space between things

• Build the street you actually live on
• Give each figure a house and a route to walk
