Spelling Dice Race — Letter Dice and Word Cards

1. Turn over a word card so everyone can see the target.
2. Roll the letter dice down the tower.
3. Scan the faces that land for the letters you need.
4. Call it and claim the card when you can build the word.
5. Play on until the cards run out; most cards wins.

• Spelling under pressure, which is different from spelling on paper
• Scanning a jumble quickly for the letters that matter
• Vocabulary, because a bigger word store gives more to spot
• Losing a round to someone faster and going straight into the next

• Play cooperatively against a timer instead of against each other
• Allow any real word rather than only the card, for a younger player
• Keep the claimed cards and re-read them at the end as a spelling list
