Magnetic Doodle Board — Draw and Wipe with a Pen

A sealed board holding tiny steel beads under a grid of holes, and a magnetic pen. Where the pen passes, beads rise to the surface and stay there, making a line with a soft clicking sound. A slider wipes the whole board clear so it starts again — no ink, nothing to spill, nothing to run out.

How you play

1. Hold the magnetic pen like a pencil.
2. Draw on the board — the line appears as the beads rise.
3. Draw shapes, letters or numbers, whatever your child is working on.
4. Pull the slider across to wipe the board clean.
5. Start again on a blank board.

What it builds

• Pencil grip and stroke control, with no mess to manage
• Letter and number formation, practised over and over
• Cause and effect, in the immediate feedback of the line
• Independence, since a child can clear and restart alone

Three ways to play it

• Write a letter and let your child copy it underneath
• Draw half a shape and ask them to complete it
• Keep it in the car — it needs nothing else and nothing gets lost
