Pattern Cube Set — Build Pictures from Cube Faces

A set of cubes with geometric lines and patterns printed on every face, and a book of designs — letters, birds, abstract patterns. Your child turns each cube to show the right face and lines them up until the picture appears. It is drawing without a pencil.

How you play

1. Open the book and pick a design.
2. Look at the lines the picture needs.
3. Turn each cube until the face showing those lines is on top.
4. Line the cubes up side by side until the picture appears.
5. When the book is finished, invent patterns of your own.

What it builds

• Seeing a picture as a grid of parts rather than one whole
• Rotating an object to find the face you want
• Precision, since one cube turned wrong breaks the line
• Free design once the book stops leading

• Build half a design and let your child complete it
• Make a pattern and photograph it to rebuild another day
