Description

234 coloured pieces and screws, a work board, and a real hand screwdriver. Your child picks one of 36 designs from the catalogue and screws the pieces down to build it — flat pictures at first, then more complex three-dimensional models. The screwdriver is the point: this is building, not sticking.

The details

  • Ages: 3–5 years
  • Pieces: 234

How you play
  1. Pick a design from the catalogue.
  2. Find the coloured pieces and screws it needs.
  3. Line a piece up on the work board.
  4. Drive the screw home with the hand screwdriver.
  5. Carry on piece by piece until the design is complete.
What it builds
  • Hand and wrist strength from real screwdriver work
  • Following a plan step by step to a finished result
  • Colour and shape matching against a design
  • Patience — a 234-piece design is not finished in ten minutes

Three ways to play it
  • Do a simple design first so the screwing action is learned before the complexity
  • Take a finished piece apart and rebuild it in different colours
  • Let your child design something and count out the pieces first
