Description

A wooden board and a set of road tiles. An animal sits at one edge and the food it eats at another, and your child arranges the tiles into a connected green path between them. The tiles are fixed shapes, so the route has to be found rather than drawn.

Features

Solo play
How you play
  1. Set the board up as the challenge shows, with the animal and its food in place.
  2. Look at the road tiles you have and how each one bends.
  3. Lay a tile from the animal and follow where it points.
  4. Keep adding tiles until the path reaches the food with no breaks.
  5. Check the path is continuous, then take the next challenge.
What it builds
  • Route planning with pieces that cannot be changed, only chosen
  • Working out which bend is needed before reaching for a tile
  • Checking a path end to end rather than assuming it joins
  • Reasoning about what each animal actually eats

Three ways to play it
  • Solve a challenge, then try it again with fewer tiles
  • Set a start and finish for each other without a card
  • Ask why that animal eats that food before starting
