Bead Tweezer Sorting Set — Tubes, Beads and Pattern Cards

A wooden box with test tubes, coloured beads, tweezers and spoons, and a deck of pattern cards. Each card shows an order of colours, and your child moves beads into the tubes with the tweezers until the tube matches. It is slow, precise work and that is the point.

How you play

1. Draw a pattern card and look at the colour order it shows.
2. Pick up the tweezers or a spoon.
3. Move one bead at a time from the box into the tube.
4. Build the colours in the order the card gives.
5. When the tube matches the card exactly, take the next one.

What it builds

• The tweezer grip, which is the same hand shape used later for a pencil
• Colour sequencing rather than just colour matching
• Patience and a steady hand — a dropped bead has to be picked up again
• Concentration held through slow, repetitive work

Three ways to play it

• Use a spoon first, then move to the tweezers when it gets easy
• Fill a tube without a card and let your child write down the order
• Race two tubes on the same card, one each
